And We're Officially Up and Bloggin'!!!

Hello my beautiful minxes!

Kate here.

I welcome you to the Fauxtale blog as I'm welcoming myself into the world of blogging-- something that I've been a bit hesitant about for some time. But there are so many awesome things taking place in Toree and my life right now that I want to keep everyone updated and excited, and this is definitely an efficient way to do it. I hereby vow to religiously inform all our friends and readers on the latest news, accomplishments, adventures and inspirations that the Fauxtale girls sniff out on a daily basis.

First and foremost, for those of you just learning about Fauxtale, we're two innovative artists with a keen sense of wonder and adoration for our great Mother earth, who brought us together in this life to pay homage to her timeless, incomparable beauty through our art. Tor and I both went to school for Fine Art, but found ourselves in interesting occupations fresh out of school--Toree started training wild animals for movie sets, and I started a freelance costume designing company (consisting of only me) specializing in feathers, bones and whatever found treasures I could dig up before my buyer needed the piece. When I discovered that Toree was making magnificent faux fur throws and headpieces in honor of her furry friends, I brought over a few of my accessories and latest works, and it was that moment that we both realized we shared a similar vision:

Fauxtale is our collaborative collection invoking the internal, carnal spirit of nature--the sensual, raw essence of humanity untouched and untainted by civilization.

This is where we draw our inspiration.
This is the beast we wish to share with all of you.
This ravenous, wild beast within yourself.

Although we're just a budding company in the beginning stages of plotting our world domination, we've got awesome, big plans in the near future... including a very well-timed business trip to Manhattan from late October to early November. Seriously. Is there a better time to be in central park than that?

With Halloween around the corner, Toree and I are busy-busy-busy cranking out custom costume pieces, so if any of you are interested or you think your costume needs a little extra flair, shoot us an e-mail and attach some inspirational reference photos. We'd love to help out!

I hope to hear from all of you, please don't be shy. Send pictures to me of things that strike your fancy, inspire you, or even some shots of you rocking our stuff so I can add them to our Friends and Family photo album on Facebook!

Toree and I are so grateful for all of your support.
AND CHECK OUT MALIBU MAGAZINE THIS MONTH!  FAUXTALE HAS A SIX PAGE SPREAD!

I send my love to all of you and promise to keep in touch.
Toree does as well.

Besos,

Kate Marie
